Senior Electrical Engineer

Line Power Manufacturing, a division of Electro-Mechanical Corporation has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer. This position is responsible for the design and engineering of Medium Voltage Switchgear and Custom Switchgear. Other responsibilities include mechanical design support, product development and factory support. Primary product responsibility is medium voltage switchgear used by mining, industrial and utility customers. The Senior Electrical Engineer will act as a liaison between manufacturing, customers, suppliers and our engineering team as needed. Responsibilities include review and approval of production designs before they are released to manufacturing. The Senior Electrical engineer is expected to take responsibility for any project they have released to manufacturing until the project is completed. This position reports to the Line Power Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

Desired Skills and Experience
Position requires a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. This requirement can be waived in lieu of equivalent experience as determined by the engineering manager and the human resources manager. A minimum of 10 years industry experience in the design and engineering of medium voltage (5 kV - 35 kV) electrical products including switchgear, generator control and power distribution equipment is required. a PE is a plus. The ability to develop complete switchgear systems from beginning to end is a must. The ability to interpret customer specifications is required. Special skill sets include an in-depth knowledge of pertinent standards including but not limited to UL, IEEE, ANSI, NEMA and MSHA. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong problem solving skills are required. Must be comfortable in a manufacturing environment and an electrical test environment. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, Solid Edge; any electrical FEA is preferred.
