by | Sep 14, 2022

For the second consecutive year Howard Broadfoot, President and CEO of Electro-Mechanical, has been named to the Virginia 500. Selected by Virginia Business magazine, the Virginia 500 highlights the state’s most powerful, influential leaders in business, government, politics and education. The mix of focus on both business and community is important to Broadfoot, “I’m honored to represent both Electro-Mechanical and Bristol as part of the Virginia 500. We strive to succeed not only as a business, but also as to make a different in our community”.

Specifically in southwest Virginia, Broadfoot was one of nine chosen to this distinguished list.  For Broadfoot this honor also shines an important light on our region at the right time, “As Bristol has entered a new phase with the arrival of several marquee enterprises locating here, the southwest Virginia region is an increasingly exciting place of growth and opportunity”.

According to Virginia Business editor Richard Foster, several factors are taken into consideration as these leaders were chosen including (but not limited to) annual revenue, size and presence of organization in Virginia, newsworthiness, community involvement and philanthropy. Broadfoot joined Electro-Mechanical as the Chief Operating Officer in 2009 and became President and CEO of the organization in 2021.
